About Fire Safety Precautions
If your municipality issues evacuation information due to a large-scale fire, please evacuate according to the instructions.
Please refrain from bringing too many belongings when evacuating.
Be careful not to breathe in smoke.
Wildfire Precautions
①Tips to Prevent Wildfires
・Do not light a bonfire in a fire-prone area with dry grass, etc.
・Ensure you never leave a fire unattended, and fully extinguish it after use
・Do not light a bonfire when it is windy or dry
・Do not throw away cigarettes
・Do not play with fire
②What to Do When You Spot a Fire
・Alert those around you with a loud voice.
・If you can put out the fire, use water from a nearby fire tank or pond to extinguish the fire.
・It is extremely dangerous to try to extinguish a fire that has already spread. If extinguishing it is not possible, immediately call the Fire Station (119) and evacuate to a safe location.
③What to Do If Your Clothes Catch Fire
・Since running can be dangerous, try to extinguish the fire by rolling on the ground to smother it. (Do not try to take off your clothes as you may burn your face)
・People near you should bring water and pour it over the fire.
Building Fire Precautions
・Please evacuate by following any building-wide announcements or the staff's instructions if there is one nearby.
・When evacuating through smoke, place a handkerchief or towel over your mouth and nose, and evacuate as low to the ground as possible.
・Please do not use the elevators.
・Once you have evacuated, do not return to the fire.
